 Job Overview

The ideal person for this position will have experience and a passion for working in a Food & Beverage intensive purchasing environment. This person will have experience with Food Buying/Receiving within a luxury full hotel/restaurant environment. The candidate must be a balanced leader with an ability to plan and execute proactively while being able to promptly address daily issues. Integrity, dependability, accuracy and professional communication is vital to this fast-paced dynamic department.

Duties And Responsabilities 

• The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for receiving, counting, weighing and inspecting all goods received. 
• Ensure that all products received and issued are of the highest quality and purchased at the lowest price available.
• Keep control of the assets by maintaining a safe and secure storeroom.
• Keep all food and beverage items up to par in the F&B storerooms.
• Make sure that all items are issued on authorized requisitions. Totals and compiles the completed requisitions which are given to Cost Control in a timely manner.
• Keep file of all weekly bids for produce, fish and meat as supplied by F&B or Director of Purchasing.
• Assist in maintaining daily inventories of food and liquor, including showing current stock, PAR stock levels, purchase price and expected delivery date.
• Coordinate the flow of daily food requisitions through the food storeroom.
• Coordinate the staging of merchandise by department, mark appropriately for placement in facility, and coordinate delivery merchandise to appropriate department Ensure all delivery documents are signed, dated and time stamped.
• Maintain an open and professional line of communication with all vendors, chefs, and employees.
• Assist with the training and assignments of new and current employees. Monitor and ensure all Purchasing Department employees are executing tasks to meet or exceeds procedural guidelines.
• Identify tasks/issues that can be streamlined to increase efficiencies, remove redundancies and/or prevent errors and future challenges.
• The Purchasing Supervisor will assist the Director of Purchasing in ensuring a smooth running and efficient storeroom and purchasing/receiving process.
• Assist with any other Purchasing/Receiving job functions as assigned by the Director of Purchasing.
