Hotel Washington is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Sales Manager to join our team! HWis an organization whose success is rooted in its service culture. Job Duties And Responsibilities

    Brand And Strategy Understanding

    • Learn and understand the hotel brand and its strategy to effectively represent it to clients.

    Customer Loyalty & Service Excellence

    • Drive customer loyalty by ensuring service excellence in all customer interactions.

    Account Management & Revenue Maximization

    • Manage and grow business travel accounts, focusing on maximizing revenue opportunities.
    • Upsell hotel services and guest accommodations at every opportunity.

    Negotiation & Group Business Management

    • Negotiate group business, including guest room rates, meeting room rentals, and hotel services, ensuring revenue goals are met.

    Sales Process

    • Oversee all aspects of solicitation, closing, and follow-up communications with clients.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of all bookings and lost business in the sales system.

    Lead Generation & Networking

    • Actively source new accounts through various channels such as cold calls, telemarketing, emails, and in-person meetings.
    • Build and maintain a target list of accounts and communicate updates with the Director of Sales (DOS).

    Event Participation & Local Networking

    • Attend property-specific receptions, conduct sales blitzes, and participate in local industry events to generate leads.
    • Build relationships with local businesses and industry associations.

    Market Intelligence

    • Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and industry changes.
    • Maintain relationships with competitors to understand market dynamics.

    Client Interaction & Proposals

    • Conduct tours for potential clients, respond promptly to inquiries, and submit accurate proposals and information.

    Sales Goal Achievement

    • Consistently meet or exceed set sales targets, revenue goals, and activity benchmarks.

    Travel & Trade Show Participation

    • Represent the hotel at trade shows, attend local market sales trips, and build relationships with feeder cities.

    Other Duties

    • Perform additional tasks to support overall business objectives as needed.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience in sales within the hospitality industry, particularly group business and corporate accounts.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, local businesses, and industry partners.
  • Knowledge of sales systems and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for tracking bookings and sales activities.
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and follow up on sales leads.

Education And Experience

Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred 
Minimum of two (2) years in hotel service role or sales experience preferred

    • A strong track record of achieving sales goals and delivering results. This includes setting clear targets and consistently meeting or exceeding them.

    • Being assertive and fast-paced in pursuing new sales opportunities. Proactivity is key to anticipating client needs, finding new business prospects, and closing deals quickly.

    Excellent Time Management

    • The ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules efficiently, and meet deadlines, especially when juggling multiple leads and accounts.

    Revenue Management Strategy Awareness

    • Understanding Revenue Management strategies and how to align sales efforts with room pricing, booking trends, and market demand.

    Flexible Work Hours

    • Willingness to work outside of the typical 9-to-5 schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, or holidays. The role demands flexibility, particularly for site visits, meetings, and attending events.
