Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Schedules room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage
- Support Director of housekeeping with coordinating special projects and is able to oversee completion.
- Performs all housekeeping duties necessary, VIP inspections, daily inspections, departures, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning
- Verifies and updates status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift
- Establish and enforce high cleanliness and hygiene standards for guest rooms, common areas, and public areas. Counsels Housekeepers on discrepancies
- Notifies Director of housekeeping and/or Chief Engineer of maintenance repairs necessary
- Implement procedures for handling special request, such as additional amenities or room preferences
- Ensure staff follow safety precautions when using equipment and supplies
- Conduct performance reviews and providing feedback to staff
- Perform property walk and report identified deficiencies
- Participates in scheduling employees to business demands and tracking employee time and attendance
- Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met
- Manages Housekeeping inventory, ensuring that necessary cleaning materials are always available
- Conduct regular training sessions for housekeeping staff, focusing on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and guest interaction
- Provide opportunities for professional development and advancement within the team
- Conduct room inspections assigned by the Director of housekeeping to ensure brand standards are adhered to.
- Support Director of Housekeeping with payroll duties.
- Support Director of Housekeeping with weekly scheduling in his absence.
- Ability to take initiative to implement strategies and tasks that can improve the overall performance of the team and the department.
- Other duties as assigned
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma/GED. Post high school education preferred
- Minimum of 2 years in a housekeeping management role, preferably in hotels
- Familiar with Microsoft Office to include, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Basic math skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
- Able to lead by example by following the attendance policy
- Able to stay updated on regulations related to hygiene and cleanliness in the hospitality industry
- Excellent time management skills
- Fully flexible with the ability to work all needed shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts
