Dual Licensed Massage Therapist / Esthetician

Position Objective

This position reports to the Spa Manager. The Massage Therapist / Esthetician is responsible for creating a luxury experience for each guest, providing excellent service and recommendations for further service and retail. This position effectively communicates with all spa positions to ensure that each guest feels as if they are the most important guest at the spa. This position is responsible for the experience of each spa guest they encounter, maintaining poise, organization, and cleanliness of workspace at all times.

Essential Job Functions

• Adheres to all policies and procedures set forth of Hotel Bennett
• Reports any incident or accident to the Department Lead, Assistant and/or the Director.
• Maintains a positive demeanor and contributes to a quality work environment.
• Understands and uses South Carolina state board standards when providing services. 
• Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.
• Maintains the highest level of body/ skin care knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services and retail products presently offered.
• Possesses proficiency in standard massages, body treatments, facial treatments and waxing
• Performs all treatments on services’ menu based on current certifications.
• Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
• Promotes home care programs by education clients on products used.
• Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to the guests. 
• Answers guest’s questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Works assigned schedule.
• Provides prompt service and performs each service within the allotted time and is prepared for many schedule changes throughout the day.
• Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
• Maintains equipment and ensures it is in proper working order.
• Informs Spa leadership of product needs.
• Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate.
• Completes all assigned side work.
• Attends all scheduled meetings.
• Attends scheduled professional trainings.
• Completes other duties assigned by the Spa Manager
• Cleans and disinfects all equipment according to South Carolina state board standards
• Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED. 
• Must maintain all current licenses and certifications that are required on a state and local level.
• Current South Carolina Esthetician or Cosmetologist license
• Previous esthetics experience preferred.

Requirements

• Customer service experience, preferably in a Spa.
• Current South Carolina Massage Therapist license
• Ability to explain various treatments/services and retail items to guests.
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
• Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong team player.
• Must be comfortable with product recommendation.
• One year of massage experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Normal work hours: Varied to include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
