A Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of all hotel facilities, including HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, and other infrastructure. They perform regular inspections, troubleshoot issues, and carry out necessary repairs to maintain the comfort and safety of guests. The engineer also manages preventative maintenance schedules, coordinates with vendors for specialized repairs, and responds promptly to guest or staff requests for maintenance assistance. The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues.
• Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance concerns and ensure their satisfaction.
• Prioritize service requests, schedule repairs, and monitor progress to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Adhere to company Engineering Assumptions/Culture, preventative maintenance programs, SOPs, and all relevant Building/Fire/Health Department codes.
• Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to ensure proper functionality.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment (e.g., tools, radios), and identify and manage shut-off valves for equipment.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, requisition parts when necessary, and track stock levels.
• Record details of unresolved calls prior to shift change for proper handoff.
• Follow all company safety and security policies, ensuring safe practices in all work areas.
• Report any maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uniform, ensuring a clean and neat appearance.
• Ensure confidentiality of proprietary information and safeguard company assets.
• Ensure the exterior of the building and grounds are clean and well-maintained.
• Paint and maintain walls, ceilings, doors, and trim as part of the property's preventative maintenance program.
• Keep maintenance workshops and storerooms clean and organized.
• Comply with attendance and availability standards, performing duties regularly.
• Perform other tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly.
• Skilled in multiple maintenance areas such as pools, HVAC, electrical, IT, carpentry, drywalling, painting, and plumbing.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift and move freely across various areas, including stairs, ramps, and ladders.
• Flexibility to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Previous hotel experience preferred, providing familiarity with the environment.
