PURPOSE: The role will partner with our Engineering team in repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment and assisting other trade mechanics in their duties to ensure a clean, safe, and well-managed property for our evening shift. The ideal candidate is responsible, consistent, and diligent. This position will report to the Director of Engineering. Days and schedules may vary. Must be available nights, weekends and holidays. . We seek to fill this role as soon as possible for the right individual.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with and under the direction of the chief engineer and outside contractors as necessary to assist with repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform routine minor and moderate repairs and maintenance duties assigned, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical and mechanical work.
  • Change filters on all supply air fans and fan coil units.
  • Clean all mechanical spaces, ceiling diffusers, return air registers, and toilet exhausts.
  • Respond to guest requests for maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, etc.
  • Maintained and treat pool water with chemicals, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
  • Check arrival rooms thoroughly, following the guest arrival rooms list.
  • Work daily in vacant rooms using the Rooms Tour punch list.
  • Complete all Maintenance Request forms promptly.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to performing the essential functions, this position may be required to perform additional functions according to the needs of the spa and as assigned by the supervisor. These responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Receive and distribute deliveries.
  • Assist with guest luggage and room service as needed.
  • Report any unusual person or activity to a supervisor or front desk.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the job's essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Basic knowledge of skilled trade activities in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical and mechanical work.
  • Skill in using various trade tools, including both hand and electric tools.
  • Basic aptitude for and ability to operate and repair equipment.
  • Ability to perform essential arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to move and work throughout the resort for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet for extended periods with the ability to extend arms overhead.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 75 lbs. waist high.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education:

  • Any combination of education and experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. High school diploma preferred.

Experience:

  • Maintenance experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • TX driver's license with a clean record
