About the Role

We seek an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to lead the operations at Joni Restaurant, where refined elegance meets exceptional dining. This pivotal role involves overseeing the daily flow of our restaurant, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and luxurious experience. The General Manager will closely partner with the Lounge Manager to elevate service standards across all outlets, curating unforgettable moments for our esteemed guests and dedicated colleagues. Responsibilities

• Manage the restaurant while supporting other Food and Beverage outlets, including In-Room Dining and Minibar.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to maintain cohesive operations.
• Curate and oversee the distinguished Joni Live Music program, ensuring an exceptional and harmonious guest experience that complements the restaurant's refined ambiance.

• Responsible for both short- and long-term planning to enhance restaurant performance.
• Ensure effective recruitment, training, development, promotion, and continuous performance reinforcement.
• Lead and coach the team to achieve outstanding guest service and colleague satisfaction.
• Fully understand and foster colleague engagement.
• Develop and implement innovative strategies for revenue growth and cost control.
• Prepare and manage the restaurant’s budget, marketing plans, and objectives within approved guidelines.
• Maintain a high-energy, positive, and professional appearance.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage special events and holiday functions.
• Uphold Health and Safety standards.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Serve as a role model for all colleagues.
• Analyze and forecast for the restaurant's short- and long-term success.
• Generate and share cost-saving ideas and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Must have flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and a varied schedule.
• Deep understanding of delivering world-class service, with a strong track record of curating exceptional guest experiences.
• Proven leadership experience in a luxury or fine dining environment, with a minimum of 4 years in a senior management role within a Michelin-starred or five-star establishment.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Supervisor is required.
• Luxury hotels and fine dining experiences are significant assets.
• In-depth understanding of five-star restaurant service standards.
• Local candidates with legal work authorization in Canada are required.
• Smart Serve and Food Handler certifications are mandatory.
• Strong desire to anticipate and fulfill the needs of others in a fast-paced luxury environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in general computer knowledge and point-of-sale systems.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in multitasking.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, with proven experience managing high-performing teams.
• Extensive food and beverage knowledge, including wine, spirits, and beer expertise.
• Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
• Must possess key strengths, including high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, exceptional communication, and a passion for delivering superior guest experiences.
