The Assistant Restaurant General Manager is responsible for supporting the management and daily operations of food and beverage services, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction and quality standards. This role involves overseeing staff, coordinating service, managing inventory, and assisting in the development of menus, promotions, and training programs. The Assistant Restaurant General Manager plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support food and beverage service staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen personnel.

• Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of new team members.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.

• Handle employee scheduling, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.

• Ensure all guests receive exceptional service and experience in the food and beverage areas.

• Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.

• Monitor guest feedback to improve service quality.

• Assist in the management of daily food and beverage operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

• Help with managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling waste.

• Coordinate the setup and breakdown of dining areas, bar, and event spaces.

• Monitor costs and inventory levels to stay within budget.

• Help with pricing strategies, menu planning, and promotions.

• Assist in generating revenue through effective sales strategies and upselling.

• Support the development and update of menus and drink lists.

• Assist in organizing and executing special events and promotions.

• Ensure food and beverage offerings meet customer preferences and trends.

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

• Communicate effectively with other departments, including kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.

• Attend regular meetings with the Food and Beverage Manager to discuss operations and areas of improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.

• Previous experience in a food and beverage or hospitality management role preferred (1-3 years).

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of food and beverage operations, health and safety regulations, and customer service standards.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale systems.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
