What we are looking for:

A Front Office Supervisor at a hotel is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk, ensuring exceptional guest service, and managing the front office team. They handle guest check-ins and check-outs, resolve any concerns, and maintain efficient communication between departments to enhance the guest experience. Additionally, they assist in training and supervising staff, ensuring smooth operations, and upholding hotel standards and policies. This is a temporary position

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet, check-in, and check-out guests in a friendly and efficient manner while adhering to hotel standards.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling front desk employees as needed.
  • Monitor and coach guest service representatives and night auditors.
  • Answer guest inquiries regarding hotel services, facilities, transportation, and local attractions.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Build rapport with rewards members and distinguished visitors, and encourage feedback throughout their stay.
  • Promote rewards membership sign-ups and guest programs.
  • Handle room reservations, rates, and credit policies accurately.
  • Oversee package/mail logging and delivery to guests and meeting rooms.
  • Use appropriate communication etiquette via radios and phones.
  • Operate the front desk computer system and perform necessary tasks and duties.
  • Review daily front office logs and reports, including room rate verifications.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and respond to needs as required.
  • Fill in for coworkers and support the team as necessary for smooth operations.

Qualification Standards:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate attentively and effectively with guests, associates, and management.
  • Ability to multitask, delegate, and prioritize efficiently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Must be friendly, approachable, and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Must be available to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2+ years of front desk experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems is required.
  • Previous experience in hotel or related fields is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • The role requires standing, walking, and handling manual tasks like lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to operate various devices like computers, copiers, and telephones.
  • Must have visual and physical dexterity for analyzing data and performing repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • The work environment is primarily indoors with moderate noise levels and temperature variations.
