11 Howard is an innovative boutique hotel located in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. Our guiding principle is conscious hospitality meaning we approach each aspect of the hotel – from design to location to amenities to how we treat our employees – with awareness, purpose, and thoughtfulness.

Compensation: $85,000 to $90,000 per year, plus bonus

As the Director of the Front Office/Guest Services, you will deliver exceptional guest experience. You will oversee the Front Office operations, including PBX (telephone) operators, ensuring seamless communication and outstanding service standards. This role requires a proactive leader who can inspire teams, drive guest satisfaction, and elevate the overall experience in a fast-paced and welcoming environment.

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the Front Office, including Front Desk/Concierge and PBX operations.
  • Ensure a smooth and efficient check-in/check-out process while maintaining exceptional guest service standards.
  • Train, mentor, and develop the Front Office team to embody the hotel’s commitment to personalized service.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and F&B, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Analyze performance metrics and guest feedback to identify areas of improvement and implement innovative solutions.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the lobby to foster guest relationships and address concerns promptly.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, labor, and operational expenses to achieve financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and brand standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive Front Office leadership experience in luxury or lifestyle hotels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for delivering guest service.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in property management systems (e.g., Opera/Opera Cloud, or similar).
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead teams.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays.

The Facts

207 Guest Rooms and Suites. Boasts 11-foot ceilings and oversized windows. Accommodations range from the Howard Queen Room (195 square feet) to the Howard Suites (700+ square feet).

All rooms include Scandinavian inspired furniture and finishes, 48" flat screen TVs, lounge corner and working area, KEYPR Technology (tablet to order anything from room service to fresh towels) and in-room safes. 

Terrace Suite. 3,000+-square-foot suite that includes a separate king bedroom, master bathroom, guest bathroom, kitchenette, dining area for 8 people and rooftop terrace. Great space for an overnight stay, informal meeting, photoshoot or cocktail reception for up to 50 guests.

Le Coucou. Famed Restaurateur Stephen Starr. Owner of Morimoto, Upland, Buddakan, El Vez and dozens more, Stephen Starr conceptualized Le Coucou at 11 Howard with Chef Daniel Rose to serve classic French dishes that are modern yet have not “gone gimmick.”

The Blond. Our exclusive nightclub, bar and lounge designed for relaxing and mingling no matter the time of day.

Library. A place to work, to meet, to enjoy afternoon tea or to simply relax in the evening with a cocktail.

The Creative Studio. 606-square-foot event space featuring 9-foot ceilings suited to host a board meeting and private meal for up to 14 guests. 

HigherDOSE. Infrared Sauna Spa. Detoxify and rejuvenate through groundbreaking light therapy.

11 Howard is perched right where SoHo meets The Bowery, Chinatown and Little Italy.
