Compensation: $9.98 per hour
Position Objective
Prepare and serve beverages for servers and guests while ensuring timely, efficient, friendly, and professional food delivery to guests.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepares drinks for the guests and servers.
- Delivery of food orders to the guest.
- Walking the pool deck and always taking food and or drink orders throughout the shift.
- Walking the pool deck to ensure all plates and trash are picked up. Pool deck to always be clean.
- Ensure the proper materials and supplies are stocked up prior to shift starting & throughout shift.
- Ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bar & dining area through disposing of all waste, clearing and cleaning all glassware, plates, and wiping down bar, all tables and preparation areas.
- Assist with opening and closing duties and closing inventory of spirits.
- Provide assistance in monthly inventory completion.
- Provide food and drink service to the (5) outer pools and rooms by delivering orders using a golf cart.
- Train new Service Professionals while monitoring overall guest satisfaction in a fast-paced, casual environment.
- Assist with many special events: Valspar, Easter, Spring Break, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Halloween and Christmas Break.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:
- Assist servers, other bartenders, and bar porters when necessary.
- Participate in the weekly and daily deep cleaning of the outlet.
Education/Experience
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and bartender experience required.
Requirements
- Must have five years’ experience in a high volume restaurant
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Must be able to work in severe weather conditions of heat and cold temperatures.
- Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess computational ability & basic computer skills.
- Must have knowledge of and be able to operate all equipment related to the outlet, including, but not limited to, TV’s, Island Osias Machine, Kegerators, coffee maker and Teres POS Terminal.
- Must have a strong knowledge of drink preparation and applicable health standards.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations and policy regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons.
- May be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- Most work tasks are performed outdoors. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F).
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including, but not limited to, cutlery used in the cutting of fruit.
