Assistant Director of Finance

Essential Job Functions

• Payroll Processing (ADP Required)

  Oversee bi-weekly payroll using ADP, including payroll reporting, journal entries, time & attendance data, and handling 401(k), garnishments, PTO, and tips allocation.

• Data Accuracy

  Ensure the accuracy of Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sales (POS) data posted to back-office accounting software.

• Training & Support

  Train departments on accounting procedures and policies to ensure proper system usage.

• Month End Procedures

  Assist with month-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and preparing closing schedules and financial reports.

• Account Reconciliation

  Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including bank and treasury reports.

• Profit & Loss Analysis

  Review and analyze monthly P&L statements for accuracy and assist in department P&L reviews.

• Budgeting & Forecasting

  Support annual budgeting and assist with monthly department forecasting.

• Tax Reporting

  Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales, town, and occupancy tax returns.

• Meetings & Reporting

  Lead monthly credit and accounting meetings and assist with ad-hoc reporting.

• Compliance

  Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, advising management on regulatory issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• 3-5 years of accounting experience within a hotel
• Strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills required
• Experience working with ADP Workforce Now.
