Key Responsibilities Of The Assistant Golf Professional
Assist the Head Golf Professional on the daily management of golf operations
Tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament, post-tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, score, prize distribution, and follow-up
Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest of quality of customer service is achieved
Assist in managing golf car operations, practice facility, and club storage service
Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including order procedures, display, and sales
Monitors all members’ scores, reports handicapping to USGA and bills members
Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image
Assist with the administration of applicable staff via record keeping, work schedules, etc. in accordance with facility human resource policies
Opening and closing duties
Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection
Assist with controlling and managing play
Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments
Knowledge, Skill, & Traits
Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
Strong organizational, planning & prioritization skills
Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
Service and customer focused attitude
Experienced in written and oral business communication
Experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher
Knowledge with online tee sheet systems, preferably ForeTees
Knowledge with tournament software, preferably Golf Genius Tournament Software
Knowledge with POS Systems, preferably Jonas Systems
Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
Qualifications
Must be motivated to thrive in the golf industry
Class A PGA Professional in good standing preferred
PGA Level 2 or higher PGA Apprentice in good standing preferred
Must be able to work on a seasonal basis
