Full-Time

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Tennis Teaching Professional to join our team. As the Tennis Teaching Pro, you will lead all tennis instructional programs, organize events, and provide exceptional coaching to players of all skill levels. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, helping players improve their game and fostering a vibrant tennis community.

Compensation: Hourly Pay + Professional receives 80% of Tennis Lesson Revenue. Medical benefits are eligible should Professional meet Troon's minimum weekly average of 30 hours, or more, a week.

Essential Duties

• Assists with designing, planning and implementing tennis programs to include special events and clinics.
• Supervises all tennis play and proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment.
• Initiates, directs and promotes tennis clinics, special events and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members’ tennis interests. We expect at least 6-8 social events a year.
• Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
• Implements and develops lesson programs for adults and juniors.
• Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.

• Assist with the upkeep of the online Court Sports Calendar and the Tennis Court Reservation system (Club Essentials) to ensure it is complete and up to date. Ensure courts are blocked as needed for socials, Community Groups, lessons, clinics, drills, etc.

• Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership.
• Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertains that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Reports any maintenance problems to the department manager.
• Monitors court usage including special events, clinics and lessons.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Watches and advises on league play when available and does the scheduling and blocking of the courts.
• Runs a tennis 101 Program at no cost to members to increase program attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Teaching Professional in tennis.
• Proven experience in teaching tennis lessons and coaching players of varying skill levels.
• Strong understanding of tennis rules, strategies, and techniques, with a passion for sharing knowledge and fostering player development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds.
• Organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute instructional programs, events, and tournaments.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate peak playing times and events.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• A positive attitude, enthusiasm for the sport, and dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
• Computer skills including MS Office.
