Job Description
Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a server assistant for our Bar/restaurant, The Last Refuge. The primary role of the server assistant is to support our service team and ensure each guest has an excellent dining experience. The server assistant must be attentive to the needs of our guests while making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of food products, menus, and promotions
- Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout all areas at all times.
- Interact with guests in a professional and hospitable manner.
- Prepare the following before and during service; tables, napkins, utensils, condiment refills, expo station and perform all other preparation tasks as instructed by Front of House Managers or General Manager.
- Be attentive at staffing meetings to remain updated on daily menu choice changes to both food and bar, specialties, menu deviations, if the kitchen staff is running out of any items...etc.
- Maintain a professional and proper dining experience while delivering items, fulfilling guest service needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses, replace drinks, and offer desserts.
- Clear all surfaces and tables and re-set the within 5 minutes of the guest leaving the table; in accordance with company tabletop standards
- Provide water to customers throughout their meal.
- Provide quick and attentive assistance to any mishap in the restaurant
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or instructed by Management
- Assist other staff in other positions as necessary
- Fill in for absent staff as needed
- Assist with special events as needed
- Responsible for properly handling of plate ware, glassware, and, and communicating ordering necessities to the Management.
- Maintain a positive guest experience with effective communication of all guest recovery situations; while documenting such occurrences to the Manager on Duty.
- Perform other related duties as directed by either the Bar Manager, General Manager or Corporate Office
- Accomplish work-related goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests or projects.
- Record any and all Front of House related COGS which can be as follows but not limited to Waste Log and Cost Transfers
- Responsible for adhering to company Appearance Standards
- Consistent productivity, follow health codes, provide a safe working environment for all staff while maintaining impeccable personal hygiene as well as a high standard of work ethic in the workplace.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous work-related experience required
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from fellow service staff, guests, and or groups of guests
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
Working Conditions
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is usually indoors, within a controlled environment, and experiences a moderate noise level inside the establishment.
Shifts are typically day/evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and listen.
- The employee is required to stand, walk, and/or sit to work.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour plus tips
