Job Summary:
Entry-level cooks should anticipate working across all stations and using all kitchen equipment. Depending on the venue, you can expect to work multiple stations including batch production, high-volume ala carte, prep, pantry, and banquets. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in setting up and breaking down production areas following kitchen sanitation standards ensuring that all work areas are clean and organized. 
• Assist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to recipes and standards.
• Properly stores and handles all food products and promotes safe and sanitary food handling techniques.
• Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Ensure clean cooking area, utensils and equipment using established sanitation standards.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
• Perform all duties toward the goal of providing excellent guest service efficiently.
• Maintains open and positive communications with all co-workers daily.

Qualifications:

• Prior kitchen experience as a Kitchen Utility, Cafeteria Worker, or any other experience in the culinary field.
• Ability to understand food production procedures and read recipes.
• Ability to understand food sanitation standards and implement them in work.
• Able to understand basic English, and to follow simple verbal directions.
• Must be dependable to work when scheduled and to function productively.  
• Able to take verbal directions, and then communicate them professionally to others.
