Laura ClaggettDirector of Brand MarketingAs the Director of Brand Marketing, Laura lives all things Modus. She makes sure the Modus story is told authentically and powerfully across all touch-points of the brand. From the digital world to the physical space, Laura keeps the Modus brand on track while constantly searching for new ways to connect with our guests. In the spirit of our “Live 360” core value, Laura leads the Modus Signature “Run This City” program. As our running concierge, Laura found the perfect way to fuse her passion for running, this scenic city, and meeting Modus travelers from all around the world. Prior to joining the team as Director of Brand Marketing in 2017, Laura worked for the chairman of Modus Hotels, Conrad Cafritz. Laura earned a B.A. in Classical Studies from the College of William and Mary.
Josh RunesDirector: Digital Marketing and Social MediaWith over 9 years of experience in hospitality marketing, Josh Runes brings a great deal of digital marketing knowledge to the Modus team. He joined Modus in June 2015 after working at a digital agency for the previous 4 years. Josh is responsible for the Modus Hotels’ websites, all of the online marketing efforts as well as educating both the brand and hotel teams about digital marketing and working to align offline and online strategies. He graduated from The University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Josh was immediately drawn to the entrepreneurial spirit of Modus, “I wasn’t looking for a job or to fill an open position, I was looking for a company that would help me grow both professionally and as a leader.”

Cycle for SurvivalRare cancer patients make up about half of all people fighting cancer, but they often have limited or no treatment options because rare cancer research is drastically underfunded. Cycle for Survival raised $42 million in 2019—more than $221 million in over a decade. Every single dollar is directly allocated to rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center within six months of the events.
