Fermin MonrealEVENT SERVICES SUPERVISOR AT JW MARRIOTT AUSTINAfter nearly a decade with White Lodging, Fermin Monreal considers coworkers a part of his family — figuratively and literally. Both he and his wife work at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas.
Fermin found White Lodging when he worked for a wedding cake company that delivered to the Radisson in Merrillville, Indiana. His culinary training gave him an eye for kitchens, and he liked the hotel’s setup. So he jumped at the chance when a banquet chef position opened up. Before long, his talents led him to the newly-opened JW Marriott Indianapolis, where he spent time as both a Sous Chef and a Kitchen Supervisor. His success at the JW led to another new opportunity, helping open the JW Marriott in Austin as Senior Event Services Manager, where his wife made the family complete by joining the staff in Rooms Control.

After a few years spent moving from hotel to hotel to gain experience in the select service world, Stacy was ready for her next adventure, a job in full service. She found her next opportunity at White Lodging as director of room operations at the Sheraton Erie.
The support she received from fellow associates and her “let’s do it” attitude quickly had an impact on her movement in the company. She took on additional training, going to various White Lodging properties across the country where she gained broad experience and developed valuable relationships with people throughout the organization. “My success is a result of the support and opportunities White Lodging has provided,” Stacy said. “So many people have played an integral role in where I am today.”
Stacy is now the general manager of the Courtyard Erie in Pennsylvania, which she led from the development phase to opening in June 2016. Not only did Stacy successfully launch the hotel 30 days ahead of schedule, she and her team exceeded every goal on the books.
