As Founder, President & CEO of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, Michael is a career hotelier, entrepreneur and leadership mentor. Crescent is a nationally recognized, top tier hotel and resort management firm, operating over 100 properties in the U.S. and Canada, with an additional 14 under development. Crescent is an award winning management firm and one of the few elite management companies approved to operate luxury and upper upscale full service hotels under Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG and premier soft brand affiliations. Crescent also operates a collection of legendary independent and lifestyle hotels & resorts affiliated with “Latitudes Collection, Lifestyle by Crescent”. Crescent's clients predominately include hotel REIT’s, private equity firms and major developers. Prior to Crescent, Michael served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Destination Hotels & Resorts. Destination operated many luxury independent hotels and resorts including signature assets such as Hotel del Coronado, Eden Roc Resort and Royal Palms Resort & Spa. Prior to Destination, Michael served as Chief Operating Officer for Sunstone Hotels & Resorts and was instrumental in Sunstone becoming one of Marriott’s largest full service managers. Michael also served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Capstar/MeriStar Hotels and Resorts (present day Interstate Hotels); Michael was a member of the executive committee who took the firm public. Early in his career, Michael served as an award winning General Manager for premier full service hotels and resorts with Hilton, Westin and Sheraton brand affiliations. Michael currently serves on the Owners Advisory Boards of Marriott and Hilton. Michael previously served on the Board of Directors of several publicly traded hotel companies and is an active contributor to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Michael brings a wealth of industry experience with over 30 years in Food & Beverage. He brings to Crescent a strong background in culinary operations in both the hospitality and restaurant industries. Prior to joining Crescent, Michael held the role of Vice President of Culinary Operations with Sage Restaurant Group where he was an intricate part in the creation of opening 13 award winning restaurants and hotels. Michael has direct involvement in property operations, as well as the development and implementation of detailed policies and procedures. In his role as SVP of Food & Beverage, Michael will lead Crescent’s Food & Beverage team within the operations department.
