Job Description

The Sr. Director of Event Sales will focus on pro-active business development for Santa Anita Park, in addition to maintaining current customer base and customer satisfaction.  

The Sr. Director of Event Sales will lead the sales team to achieve maximum revenues at Santa Anita Park. 

Works closely with Executive Management team on all Events, VIP, Suite Owner, and Horsemen events, to ensure mutual satisfaction.  Has established ties to the LA and/or Arcadia community and has a network of clientele.

Responsibilities: 

• Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on achieving individual and team goals 

• Understand and embrace business development and research target accounts for advance knowledge of potential 

• Respond to inquiries and leads in a timely and professional manner. Be adept in selling catering/large group venue space and servicing events as needed 

• Actively up-sell each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity 

• Arrange site inspections and tastings as needed for closing the deal 

• Verify business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery 

• Develop and lead a cohesive team with focus on developing and meeting revenue goals 

• Increase customer loyalty by delivering service excellence 

• Develop customer relationships in order to grow the account on behalf of Santa Anita Park 

• Have a strong understanding of product, competition, LA community and goals 

• Stay up to date on competitors and trends 

• Work with Director of Catering, Director of VIP and Owner Sales, and Director of Community Events to develop new market strategies to attract new business 

• Ensures Delphi accounts, bookings and log of activities are constantly up to date 

• Ensures the team produces Delphi event orders on time, with clear and precise information, to distribute to the operations team 

• Execute accurate contracts for all events, maximizing food, beverage and site rentals 

• Creates accurate budgets for events, and P&L’s as needed 

• Attend BEO meetings, Department Head meetings and Marketing meetings each week 

• Ensure team members are following up on survey feedback 

• Work with Marketing Department on website and social media opportunities 

• Run monthly reports as required 

• Other duties as assigned
