Job Description

The Hershey Entertainment Venues Safety & Security Department is a key asset to our sweet destination - ensuring that guests and employees are safe, secure, and free to enjoy our many entertainment offerings and events. Join our team and help us keep it sweet!

Additionally, our Safety & Security Department offers part-time, seasonal, and year-round job opportunities working within all areas of our Hershey Entertainment Complex. Locations include: Hersheypark ® , ZooAmerica ® , Hersheypark ® Stadium, Hersheypark ® Arena, Giant Center SM and Hershey Theatre ® .

As a Part-Time Security Nurse, you will oversee the daily First Aid operations and employees in coordination with the Head Nurse and Security Management Team. You'll need to handle a high level of independence and quickly respond to rapidly changing conditions throughout the Hershey Entertainment Complex venues. Duties must be performed in accordance with licensure requirements for the Department of Health, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Job Functions:
  • Assess, treat, or triage guests and employees who report to First Aid and supervise care provided to patients by EMTs
  • Provide exemplary service to guests and team members
  • Administer emergency medications as required for proper patient care
  • Perform and complete assigned tasks from management as needed
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations
  • Ensure proper and accurate documentation of all patient contacts and/or treatments
  • Maintain adequate medical supply stocks in patient care areas
  • Maintain a professional appearance that meets Hershey Entertainment and Resorts appearance standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older on the date of applying
  • Must possess valid PA Registered Nurse license
  • Must possess a valid certification in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Must possess valid Driver's License

Additional Qualifications:
  • Must be able to obtain a valid PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Background and Federal Criminal Background Check as a condition of continued employment
  • Must have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be innovative and be self-motivated to complete tasks
  • Must be comfortable speaking to groups
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines
  • Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information and work without a conflict of interest
  • Must have the ability to make sound decisions independently
  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include, but not limited to, passing required tests and certifications within established timelines

Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Work consists of being inside and outside in varying weather conditions

ANDREW HELMERVICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCESAndy was named Vice President, Human Resources in January 2014. Andy began his career with the company in 1984 at Hersheypark and held various positions in the Foods Department at the Park over the next eight years. In 1992, he began his management career as Food Service Personnel Coordinator. Throughout his more than 20-year career with the company, Andy has held a variety of positions, including Manager Compensation/HRIS and Assistant General Manager of the Entertainment Complex. Prior to becoming the company's Vice President, Human Resources, Andy served as Managing Director of Human Resources.
JOHN K. LAWNPRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERJohn was appointed a Director of the company in June 2017. John was elected Chief Executive Officer in June 2017 after serving as President since September 2016. He previously served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and held other leadership positions in the Entertainment division, including Director of Food & Beverage and Assistant General Manager of Hersheypark®. Prior to joining the company, John worked with clients at Yankee Stadium, FedEx Field, and the Men's US Open Championships, as well as at other sporting venues and premier hospitality events throughout the country. John is a member of the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). He serves on the boards of both the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
