Objective / Purpose
The overall objective and purpose of the Housekeeping Utility position is to ensure multiple areas of housekeeping are completed to help maintain the cleanliness of heart of house and front of house areas for guest satisfaction. The incumbent is responsible for undertaking houseperson, public area cleaning, and laundry duties. They are to provide the highest level of service in support of the mission, core values, standards and goals established by the company.
Essential Functions / Tasks
Primary responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
• Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a genuine warm and friendly manner using professional and Kessler standard nomenclature
• Maintain the integrity of the guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key control
o Houseperson Duties
▪ Respond promptly to questions, concerns and special requests. Follow-up to ensure the guest is satisfied
▪ Maintain proper stock par levels with linen and guest supplies on floors
o Public Area Duties:
▪ Maintain cleanliness of public areas to include but not limited to, furniture, fixtures, artwork, baseboards, window sills, floors, rugs, carpet, sinks, toilets and mirrors
▪ Place items, to include but not limited to, furniture, throws, pillows, bathroom supplies and amenities in proper location and to the specifications outlined in the standard operating procedures
▪ Clean public restrooms and maintain adequate supplies of products, to include but not limited to, toilet paper, soap lotions and paper towels
▪ Dust, vacuum, mop public areas, to include but not limited to, hallways, lobby, gallery, fitness center, spa meeting rooms and offices
▪ Use software program to communicate any deficiencies in public areas, to include but not limited to, remote controls, TVs, light bulbs, plumbing, soap dispensers and hand dryers.
▪ Respond promptly to questions, concerns and special requests. Follow-up to ensure the guest is satisfied
o Laundry Attendant Duties
▪ Wash and dry hotel linen, to include but not limited to bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, robes, slippers, sheets, and pillow cases, according to the specifications outlined in the standard operating procedures.
▪ Fold and stack linen neatly on shelves
▪ Maintain a neat and organized laundry room
▪ Mop floor
▪ Remove lint from dryer
▪ Maintain adequate stock of soaps and supplies
▪ Use equipment according to specifications outlined in the procedural manual and report any malfunctions of equipment
• Secure lost items according to the specifications
• Work efficiently in order to meet daily requirements
• Solve problems proficiently
• Maintain a neat and organized work area
• Maintain the integrity of Company proprietary information and protect Company assets
• Maintain complete knowledge in the use of all equipment, property management systems and access according to specifications
• Maintain complete knowledge and comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain neat, clean and professional appearance according to standards
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions
• Welcome and acknowledge guests with disabilities and follow proper procedures to accommodate needs.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationship and support the team to achieve our goals
• Attend required training and meetings
• All other duties as assigned, planned or un-planned

Richard KesslerChairman & CEOBack in 1970, Richard Kessler became real estate developer Cecil Day’s right hand man, at just 23 years old, when they both helped found Days Inn of America. He spent the next five years working diligently, leading five estate developments and operational companies which prepared him to become the president and CEO of Days Inn. One year later, he became the chairman at 29 years old and in the 1980s, he opened a separate division dedicated to boutique hotels with a property in Savannah, Georgia and another in Orlando, Florida. The Days Inn chain was sold in 1984 and Kessler introduced his new independent venture, The Kessler Enterprise, Inc., which he still runs today as president and CEO. His main goal at the time was to break into the development of his own boutique hotels. The name “Bohemian” was inspired by the Bohemian Club in California and it provides an experience for guests and visitors to step away from the usual. It invites them to feed into their curiosity by embracing the European Bohemian Lifestyle as an unconventional wandering gypsy with a healthy dose of funky California spirit. This ambience can be felt in each hotel, where guests are encouraged to give into temptation and let their creativity come out to play. In April 2010, the Marriott International Inc., Autograph Collection made its debut with seven Kessler Collection properties. Today, there are a total of 9 properties in The Kessler Collection, including Casa Monica Resort & Spa, St. Augustine, Florida; Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando, Florida; Bohemian Hotel Celebration, Orlando, Florida; Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville, North Carolina; Beaver Creek Lodge, Colorado; Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront, Georgia; Mansion on Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia; Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston, South Carolina and Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook, Alabama.
