Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Corporate Director of IT, the Hospitality IT Manager is responsible for the IT operation of IT systems directly impacting hotel operations and back-office functionality. This position is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all property systems, and oversight of IT vendors installing/maintaining systems. Responsibility of specific systems includes PMS, POS, phone systems, PCs, printers, PDA's, guest HSIA, LAN/WAN connections. This position is also responsible for project managing the implementation of new technology in our hotels including computer rollouts, new-builds, and acquisitions. The Hospitality IT Manager is responsible for ensuring all users adhere to IT standards, policies, and procedures in place by Kessler Collection. The Hospitality IT Manager is also responsible for basic computer training of users within the hotels to assist in maintaining efficient operation of the IT systems at each property. Further responsibilities of the Hospitality IT Manager will be defined as the position matures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Five plus years of hotel systems experience (PMS, POS, Sales/Catering, Telephony, HSIA, Audio Visual, Door Lock Systems)
  • Five plus years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems and Active Directory; Windows Server 2003 through 2012.
  • Five plus years of hands-on server hardware experience.
  • Ten plus years of hands-on, Windows PC configuration, repair, and building.
  • Expert understanding of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems, and Office applications. Willingness and ability to develop an expert level understanding of the software commonly used.
  • Hands-on working experience with network switches including the configuration of VLANs.
  • Previous working experience with PCI-DSS standards.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a highly dynamic environment, and efficiently multi-task.
  • Ability to effectively manage third-party vendors for support of various systems.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-year IT-related degree required, with a 4-year degree preferred.

  • No Direct Reports
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The candidate must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
  • The candidate must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
  • This position frequently interacts in person, email, phone, cell phone, and Skype with owners, corporate executives, property level leadership, and external vendors.
  • This position maintains direct contact with external vendors on behalf of the company and may be required to host meetings and/or attend industry-related events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • The Hospitality IT Manager position can be physically demanding at times and may require lifting of up to 40 pounds without assistance

Richard KesslerChairman & CEOBack in 1970, Richard Kessler became real estate developer Cecil Day’s right hand man, at just 23 years old, when they both helped found Days Inn of America. He spent the next five years working diligently, leading five estate developments and operational companies which prepared him to become the president and CEO of Days Inn. One year later, he became the chairman at 29 years old and in the 1980s, he opened a separate division dedicated to boutique hotels with a property in Savannah, Georgia and another in Orlando, Florida. The Days Inn chain was sold in 1984 and Kessler introduced his new independent venture, The Kessler Enterprise, Inc., which he still runs today as president and CEO. His main goal at the time was to break into the development of his own boutique hotels. The name “Bohemian” was inspired by the Bohemian Club in California and it provides an experience for guests and visitors to step away from the usual. It invites them to feed into their curiosity by embracing the European Bohemian Lifestyle as an unconventional wandering gypsy with a healthy dose of funky California spirit. This ambience can be felt in each hotel, where guests are encouraged to give into temptation and let their creativity come out to play. In April 2010, the Marriott International Inc., Autograph Collection made its debut with seven Kessler Collection properties. Today, there are a total of 9 properties in The Kessler Collection, including Casa Monica Resort & Spa, St. Augustine, Florida; Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando, Florida; Bohemian Hotel Celebration, Orlando, Florida; Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville, North Carolina; Beaver Creek Lodge, Colorado; Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront, Georgia; Mansion on Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia; Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston, South Carolina and Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook, Alabama.
