Hospitality Sales Manager

Arbor Day Farm is a property owned and operated by the Arbor Day Foundation. Lied Lodge is nestled within our 260 acre property. This property is where our missions come to life! As one of the world's largest operating conservation foundations, the Arbor Day Foundation educates and engages stakeholders and communities across the globe to involve themselves in its mission of planting, nurturing and celebrating trees. Our vision is to help others understand and use trees as a solution to many of the global issues we face today, including air quality, water quality, climate change, deforestation, poverty and hunger.
We need a Hospitality Sales Manager who will identify opportunities, nurture individual account relationships, close Group business, and one who can passionately communicate our mission of inspiring people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. This Hospitality Sales Manager will serve as an integral part of the Lied Lodge sales team and will report to the Director of Sales.
+Experience. You have multiple years of successful hospitality sales experience and an established network within the Midwest.
+The Tool Box. You’re no stranger to a consultative sales approach, are familiar with the Group sales process, and understand the fundamentals of hotel operations and the systems used (PMS & Hotel Sales & Catering Systems, preferably OPERA).
-- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
+A Proven Track Record. You’ve developed an effective approach to Group sales and it shows in your history of exceeding goals.
+Self-Management Skills. You know how to create and execute an effective SMART plan, are highly productive & motivated, and take ownership of your territory and its success.
-- Ability to work remotely within the territory & travel as required, regionally/nationally.
-- Ability to work on site at Arbor Day Farm/Lied Lodge as needed
+Ongoing Knowledge. Your innate curiosity drives you to understand your client, market factors, and industry trends & innovations, and you use that information in creating strategies to find and close Group business.
+Own your territory. Identify, solicit, and cultivate relationships with potential & existing customers resulting in the positive and lasting relationships you’ll need to meet/exceed sales goals.
-- Sell hotel guest rooms, catering services, banquet facilities and Arbor Day Farm activities, through direct client contact, toward maximizing total operation revenues and mission- supporting profits.
-- Qualify, nurture, and analyze prospects and leads in the sales pipeline
-- Demonstrate business acumen by effectively negotiating contracts and formal agreements
-- Develop personal S.M.A.R.T. plans for the accounts within your territory.
-- Focus on revenue-producing activities and maximize time spent on direct sales efforts.
+Contribute to Team Culture. Enhance our culture through active participation in individual, team, & property wide meetings & events.
-- Follow company policies and procedures and share suggestions for process improvements.
+Innovate. Ingenuity - push us to find new ways to grow business by creating presence and excitement for Lied Lodge & Arbor Day Farm on tours of the property, at tradeshows, networking events, board service, social memberships, clubs, etc.
