Job Description

Job Description Summary:

The PBX Operator is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing communications courteously, while maintaining a positive and professional image.

Job Description:

Operate telephone switchboard station to answer telephone calls and monitor busy or unanswered lines.

Process guest requests for wake-up calls, screening calls, do not disturb, call forwarding, conference calls, and non-registered guest calls.

Answer, record, and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns. (using guests name) Log and clear all guest calls into the HOT SOS system.

Contact appropriate individual or department (e.g., Bellperson, Housekeeping, Engineering) as necessary to resolve guest call, request, or problem.

Follow up with guests to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction.

To obtain updated information daily on resort events and be able to accurately answer inquiries about these events.

Supply guests with directions and information regarding property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities.

Answer the In Room dining calls from guests.

You are responsible to co-ordinate all service requirements addressed to Room Service department, while dealing with guest requests and orders, courteously, efficiently, and promptly.

Enter the in room dining orders in micros.

Knowledge of room service menu 's in F&B outlet. Should be able to provide recommendations and suggestions to guests upon request.

Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.

Follow all company policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.

Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Requirements:

* High School diploma or equivalent
* Excellent communication skills.
* Basic understanding of telephone switchboard and PBX equipment and systems
* Must be people oriented and able to work independently or with others as needed.
* Ability to read, write and understand English.
* Knowledge of micros required.
* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to read and comprehend routine instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
* Ability to give high priority to customer service.

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to stand/walk/step for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
