Job Description

 Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge, located in Dawsonville, GA is one of Georgia's greatest natural treasures! With a 729 ft. picturesque water fall and the starting point for those hikers going North on the Appalachian Trail, we offer camping, hiking, food & beverage, lodging, zip lines, adventure park with guided hikes, birds of prey, archery and much, much more.

We are managed by the Southeast's premiere hospitality management company, Coral Hospitality, GA LLC.

We are seeking a dynamic leader to be the General Manager of this magnificent property.  This individual needs to have significant experience in the day-to-day operations of a hotel/resort, as well as have a proven record of overall fiscal responsibility.  This is a great opportunity for an energetic, vibrant General Manager with success in leading a team to stellar results.

Job Requirements

  Job Requirements:

  • Proven success in position of GM in hotel/resort environment
  • Extensive Rooms Division background to include Yield Management, Market Segmentation, Front Office, Reservations, Maintenance, and Housekeeping
  • Extensive knowledge of Food & Beverage/Kitchen operations
  • Working knowledge of Sales and Marketing
  • Effective ability to supervise, train, motivate and mentor team members to maintain      optimal department operation and staff development
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work, communicate and maintain positive owner relations
  • Strong computer, spreadsheet and budgeting skills
  • Multi-tasking

Experience:

  • The successful candidate will be a strong, self-motivated team leader with in-depth knowledge of the hotel/resort industry
  • 5+ years as General Manager
  • 7-10 years hotel experience with focus on Rooms and working knowledge of Food and Beverage, Sales & Marketing and State Parks
  • Prior hospitality work experience and knowledge of the North Georgia mountains preferred
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills exercising patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • State or National Park experience preferred.

Michael StrohbeckCorporate Manager of Human Resources and TrainingMichael joined Coral Hospitality in February 2018 as Manager of Human Resources and Training. Michael has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility throughout his career across multiple industries including hospitality, technology, healthcare, and financial services. He was most recently with HROI where he severed as a Human Resource Consultant. Michael’s responsibilities include oversight of all people-related services across all divisions of Coral Hospitality. Michael received his Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University’s George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology. Michael also received a Certificate in HR Management from Villanova University and is certified as an HR Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP).
CHRISTOPHER SCHAEFFERPreseidentResults driven and creative, Chris directs all areas of Coral Hospitality’s operations with a forward looking vision. He is known for his expert ability to combine his vast amount of finance and operational experience in developing and executing innovative operational plans that maximize results for Coral clients. In this leadership role, Chris ensures that Coral and its portfolio of properties maintain an intense commitment to employee development, service delivery, asset value and financial performance. Chris’ career began in public accounting, while earning his CPA designation. This background paved his way into the hospitality industry where he held several senior finance and operational positions, including positions with The Fisher Hotel Group, Noble House Hotels & Resorts and Foxwoods Resort & Casino.
