Job Description

 The Director of Sales (DOS) develops and implements the sales strategy of the hotel to ensure that occupancy, average daily rate, and market share goals are achieved.

Provide overall Sales leadership to the property, responsible for strategically soliciting and developing new accounts, maintaining rapport with existing accounts, and successfully promoting the hotel to the community.

The Director of Sales must meet or exceed budgeted goals and responsibly manage all aspects of the Sales department following the standards of the Hotel Brand and Management Company.

Development and implementation of the total sales effort of the hotel, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, supervising activities of sales personnel, and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction.

This position will also support and work Front Desk/Office shifts and other responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements

 

  • Degree in marketing or related field experience preferred, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) year's total experience in sales or marketing to include two (2) years in hotel sales.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, supervision, training, and motivation of managers.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Ability to effectively listen, communicate and perform diplomacy with internal and external customers and staff in all situations.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Knowledge of the market property is located.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public, etc. Team player and ability to get along with others Available to meet guests which may include weekends Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
