Job Description


The position of Lobby Concierge is unique and challenging. While providing service to guests, the Concierge is also providing a very important function for our fellow employees and the local area. A Concierge assumes nothing from the guests, promises them nothing, but gives his/her all and never says No! Inherent in every question, there is an answer. His/her job is to find it in the most efficient and pleasant way possible.


  • Responsible for creating an atmosphere around his/her desk that welcomes people.
  • Communicate with other people, satisfy a tremendous need for personal service and develop a true sense of community for him/her in the local area.
  • Follow and support Mission Statement and Core Values.


  • A College Degree with emphasis on Hospitality or Travel and Tourism is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the Charleston, SC food and beverage scene, area attractions, and local history is also preferred but not required.


  • Ability to multi-task: using telephones and computers while interacting with guests
  • Quick thinking ability to give clear, concise recommendations and directions (walking, driving and verbal),
  • Knowledge to refer/recommend a wide variety of activities and services as well as information on the local Charleston area and all of its many facets.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook


  • Lifting up to 40 pounds (boxes/luggage/golf clubs). 30% of shift includes standing, walking or bending.

Marty WallGeneral ManagerMarty Wall is General Manager of Hotel Bennett and nobody knows the property better than him. Prior to becoming GM, he served as the Managing Director for Bennett Hospitality, the owner of the property. He oversaw the hotel’s development process, served as asset manager and played an integral role in a successful opening. Marty has a stellar background in luxury operations, including nearly two decades spent with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. He began his career in the accounting department, before serving in a variety of leadership roles, primarily in Houston and Philadelphia. He also helped open Four Seasons properties in Las Colinas, Texas, and Santa Barbara, California. All four locations achieved AAA’s Five Diamond rating. After leaving Four Seasons, Marty became General Manager of the Woodlands Inn in Summerville, South Carolina, which was previously managed by Salamander and owned by Sheila Johnson. This unique location was one of only a handful of hotels in the nation to achieve Forbes Five Star and AAA Diamond ratings for both its accommodations and restaurant. Marty then moved to Bluffton, South Carolina, where he served as General Manager at the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, before returning to Charleston and joining Bennett Hospitality.
Hayato NogakiAssistant General ManagerHayato Nogaki, Assistant General Manager of Hotel Bennett returned to the Holy City in July of 2019. Having relocated most recently from Pelican Hill, a 5 star 5 diamond resort, Hayato has worked at some of the finest properties around the country such as Carmel Valley Ranch, California as well as the opening team of The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island. He has served various roles with Salamander Hotels & Resorts from Corporate Director of Food & Beverage to opening Resort Manager at The Henderson Resort. Hayato started his hospitality career at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Hawaii.
Vicky ShieldsDirector of FinanceVicky Shields, Director of Finance, joined Hotel Bennett from a sister property, The Henderson, Destin, FL. Vicky is responsible for all financial aspects of the hotel to include: budgets, forecasting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and auditing functions. Vicky spent 21 years with the Jefferson Hotel as the Director of Finance and is an expert in her field.
Ryan QuinlanDirector of EngineeringRyan Quinlan, Director of Engineering, is one of the first employees of Hotel Bennett, joining during the early construction phases. He is responsible for the maintenance of the operations and technologies of the hotel. Spending 12 years with Kiawah Island Golf Resort and a lengthy career with GE Automations has well prepared Ryan for this opportunity.
Teresa KellerDirector of Human ResourcesTeresa Keller, Director of Human Resources, joined Hotel Bennett after more than 14 years with The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort as the Director of Training & Development. Teresa was integral in the achievement and retention of KIGR's Forbes and AAA 5 star ratings. She has created a culture at Hotel Bennett that supports training and development of every Service Professional and ensures they are experts in their profession. She is a seasoned and well respected industry leader. Teresa's experience features leadership roles at some of the world's most decorated properties.
Rachel FrostDirector of Sales & MarketingRachel Frost, Director of Sales & Marketing, has been succeeding in hospitality for nearly 20 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Ritz-Carlton. Rachel prides herself on her ability to successfully drive revenue and grow team members in all types of hotels, from resort to convention and luxury to select service.
