Job Description

The Holiday Inn Lancaster is looking to add an energetic and motivated new member to our high-performing Sales & Catering Team. As the Social Catering Manager, you have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Sales and Catering Team and will sell and service a variety of social events. 

In this role, you will be responsible for promoting, selling, booking, and coordinating various social events at our prestigious Imperial Ballrooms, and our newly built outdoor Terrace at the Imperial Ballrooms such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, graduation parties, birthday & anniversary parties, rehearsal dinners, non-profit fundraiser events, through personal sales calls, leads, and trade shows.

Job Requirements

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Sell and book social events, banquets, receptions and non-profit events
  • Maximize profits and comply with Catering standard operating procedures
  • Communicate relevant details with other Hotel departments regarding each group's stay, such as function space requests/requirements, audio visual needs, rooming lists, billing procedures and outside activities
  • Plan and conduct site visits and pre-planning meetings with clients
  • Implements the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process
  • Coordinate with meeting planners in order to produce successful events
  • Be on-site for each event to ensure total event success; check all functions prior to start to ensure correct set-up, clean equipment, etc.
  • Maintain working knowledge of culinary trends, food creativity, banquet set-ups, and creative room decorations
  • Represent Hotel and The Imperial Ballrooms at relevant trade shows identified to drive awareness and bookings in the social catering segment
  • Assist the Director of Sales in preparation of strategic marketing plans and sales plans to achieve objectives for assigned segments
  • Qualify Leads and prospects gained from all sources
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key clients and area venues in order to produce repeat referrals and repeat bookings
  • Actively maintain outside lead sources such as The Knot, Wedding Wire, Property Websites and others to ensure content is current, accurate and drives engagement
  • Other duties as requested by Manager

Job requirements:

  • Typical workweek is Tuesday - Saturday working from 9:00am-5:00pm, unless evening events are taking place. However, the schedule will fluctuate based on contracted events and scheduled appointments. Occasional Holiday work is required but minimal.
