Job Description

The Cincinnati Marriott at RiverCenter is seeking a guest service oriented part-time Banquet Server to join their team! The Cincinnati Marriott at RiverCenter is conveniently located near the Great American Ballpark & Paul Brown Stadium. The hotel boasts a new restaurant and 13,000 square feet of flexible event space and 8 meeting rooms. In addition, the hotel has convenient access to the convention center which has 110,000 square feet of event space and 17 meeting rooms.

This position is responsible for the following:
  • Help with event set up as instructed by Banquet Captain to include linen, service-ware, and glassware.
  • Attend roll-call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
  • Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Banquet Captain to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
  • Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
  • Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Captain's specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.
  • Perform all assigned side-work to include replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned to adhere to health standards.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education:

Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Licenses or certificates:

Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificate. CPR Certification and/or First Aid training preferred.

TIPS (or any alcohol intervention) training a plus.

Training and Experience:

No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.

DeForrest led more than 6,000 members of IHG Owners Association as global chairman in 2011.
Bill KeatingExecutive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer30+ years of experience in strategic planning, finance, real estate development and operations. Responsible for the development of office, residential, retail and mixed-use projects. Prior to Spire Hospitality, Keating worked extensively in acquisition activities for Lane Industries and its subsidiaries, overseeing more than 25 acquisitions in the hospitality, radio broadcasting and security service industries.
