We are currently looking for a seasoned individual for the position of Banquet Manager for the Marriott Hotel, Mobile, AL..  This is a unique opportunity for a unique individual who displays not only the experience in this area, but the leadership skills to mentor and grow a special service oriented team to delivery an exceptional experience.   We’re looking for a real leader, not a manager!

Banquet Manager's Position Overview

The Banquet Manager is primarily responsible for directing and coordinating activities relative to banquet events at the property from scheduling to setup and implementation through breakdown and cleanup.  Most important is leading our banquet team to delivering an exceptional experience.  This position works closely with the Sales Team and Culinary Team in making each event something special for our clients.


Job Requirements

Experience:

Banquet Captain - 1 year minimum is required

Event planning - 1 year is preferred


Required Skills & Abilities:

Must have the ability to communicate clearly.  Self-starting personality with an even disposition.  Ability to meet standards of appearance, service and performance.  Ability to transport 30 pounds thru a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.  As a Team Leaders, must be able to lead by example and willing to pitch in and assist co-workers with their job duties.
