Marriott San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is looking for a dynamic server for our In Room Dining team!

Candidate must:

• Be available to work 2-4 shifts a week
• Have availability to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
• Work shifts that could start as early as 3pm and shifts that could end as last at 12am.

This a part time position that is eligible for some benefits.

This position pays $17.25 hour.

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide welcoming phone greeting and follow established guidelines for taking guest orders
• Convey menu information over the phone and give accurate estimate of delivery time
• Answer all questions about cooking methods, menu items, specials, and prices of all items
• Make food and beverage recommendations and apply suggestive selling techniques as appropriate
• Follow Marriott and Stanford Hotel standards for announcing self at the room, entering the guest room, and presenting the order and check
• Set-up and deliver all food and beverage orders; conduct periodic floor sweeps throughout shift to retrieve trays and maintain sanitation guidelines
• Perform all cash handling and room charge procedures in accordance with Marriott and Stanford Hotel policies
• Respond to customer needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales; report all issues to shift supervisor
• Clean and restock service items and complete all shift side-work as assigned
• Set-up, deliver and retrieve amenities
• Service banquet rooms with BEO orders as needed
• Always dress with a smile
• Ensure total guest satisfaction
• Follow supervisor's instructions and perform other duties as directed or assigned
• Be knowledgeable in all hotel emergency procedures
• Be a Team Player and encourage the teamwork attitude among staff
• Attend department and inter-departmental meetings

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 1 year customer service experience preferred
• Prior experience as a server required, preferably in a fast-paced environment
• Micros systems knowledge a plus
