Summary

As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will oversee the housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hospitality within the property. Reporting to the General Housekeeping Manager, your core skills in cleaning, floor care will be essential in maintaining guest satisfaction. Your supervisory experience must be minimum 3years to guide a team dedicated to excellence in housekeeping management. With relevant expertise in janitorial cleaning, you will contribute to a well-maintained environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Works closely with Housekeeping Manager and Meeting Planner to meet demands of anticipated meeting rooms and special events set-up and break-down/room turnover needs.

· Conducts daily inspection of Meeting Rooms, to check proper set-ups, cleanliness and orderly condition. This includes checking all Banquet set-ups (i.e. coffee break stations, luncheons, and special events). Also, conducts weekly inspections of the staff based on pre- determined guidelines and standards.

· Places and verifies all paper and electronic sign/signage are posted correctly for each class, meeting, event, etc.

· Plans and schedules all Housekeeping staff based on business levels for public areas, set-ups, and/or general cleaning and office cleaning. Prepares all daily assignments and worksheets referencing Banquet Event Order(s) for set-up needs and details.

· Inspects guest rooms cleaned by attendants to ensure all rooms are completed on time and by ITEC Management standards.

· Inspects public areas to ensure all standards are maintained.

· Serves as department Manager in absence of Housekeeping Manager and provides coverage on scheduled days and vacation days.

· Sets an example of supervision by displaying confidence of job knowledge, initiative and support.

· Attends various planning meetings to represent the department as needed and gather information.

· Communicates and works closely with other departments to meet guests’ demands and requests to ensure impeccable product and services.

· Continually strives to create new ideas to motivate staff.

· Generates cooperation through positive interaction with other departments.

· Ensures proper established cleaning methods are followed.

· Strives to update existing cleaning procedures for improved results.

· Ensures that new employees receive the best possible guidance during their initial training period.

· Works closely with staff to create a positive atmosphere.

· Displays a personal example of impartiality and fairness.

· Promotes intra and inter department relations.

· Understands and adheres to SOP’s with regards to Housekeeping Cleaning Procedures and Guest Services.

· Maintain a strong professional relationship with the ITEC staff.

· Informs supervisor of any safety/security violations or potential liability.

· Adheres to scheduled work hours, is punctual in reporting for work and gives ample notice when he/she cannot keep the schedule, follows any change in schedule as directed by Management.

· Responds to guest requests in an efficient and courteous manner.

· Is accountable for the completion of all work assignments.

· Collects assignment sheets and records work completed.

· Conducts and/or attends meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among company employees and promotes maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.

· Acquires working knowledge of the Training Center to respond to guest questions.

· Performs all accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner, following established company policy.

· Thoroughly and correctly cleans assigned areas as indicated by shift checklist.

· Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all challenges or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken when appropriate.

· Complies with all safety standards and procedures.

· Comply with all service standards and procedures of the Department and IUOE Training Center.

· Performs all other tasks as requested by the Housekeeping Manager, Meeting Planner and General Manager.
