Compensation: $120,000 to $130,000 per year, plus bonus

Henn na Hotel New York is seeking an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to join their team!

The Henn na brand is where excitement meets comfort. Born in Japan, the Henn na Hotels are known for innovation and technology, boasting unique experiences from LG Styler cleaning closets to TOTO bidet toilets. The first Henn na Hotel in the United States sits prominently in Midtown NYC, just one block from 34thstreet and bordering Hudson Yards, the Garment District and Times Square.

The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for the overall sales efforts of the hotel with an emphasis on building awareness and loyal clientele. This position requires a candidate with strong sales skills along with extensive knowledge of the NYC market to develop the brand’s presence.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop sales strategies, monitor industry trends & market competitors to achieve business and sales goals.
  • Lead and execute all sales efforts with an emphasis on the following: National Accounts Management, Consortia Management, Travel Negotiated accounts, Local Account Management, Travel Agents from major feeder cities.
  • Solicit new business through obtaining accounts from competition, lateral development of existing accounts and contacting new customers in the market.
  • Develop pricing and market strategies, constant monitoring of competition and marketplace in general; must be prepared and able to react under fluctuating market conditions.
  • Work closely with General Manager and Revenue Team to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotels.
  • Maximize profitability and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain and grow online presence: website, social media, review sites.
  • Create and implement promotions to target need dates and attract travelers from multiple segments.
  • Work closely with SEO and Digital Media provider to ensure brand’s online growth.
  • Represent hotel in community affairs and industry related events at all times, especially when attending tradeshows and agency presentations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in relevant area.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Director of Sales.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Sales Manager.
  • Prior sales experience at an Independent or Brand property preferred.
