Accounting Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles (including GAAP), and extensive experience in hospitality accounting. This includes proficiency in Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Accounts Payable, and General Cashier functions, with a focus on maintaining compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial processes.

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in analyzing night audit reports, managing the guest ledger, and ensuring the proper handling of hospitality-specific General Ledger (GL) accounts. This role also contributes to forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the financial health of the organization. Please ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE A HOSPITALITY BACKGROUND.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Oversee billing, collections, payments, deposits, and group billings.
• Maintain and enforce the hotel's credit policy and ensure accurate receivables management.
• Reconcile daily cash deposits and credit card transmissions.
• Resolve credit card disputes and chargebacks promptly.
• Handle AR billing daily and address guest inquiries swiftly to ensure satisfaction.

Income Audit:

• Review daily reports and reconcile payments to ensure accuracy.
• Balance taxes and review Food & Beverage charges.
• Enter or upload daily revenues, receipts, and ledger balances into financial reports accurately.
• Ensure timely and precise postings to the general ledger and sub-ledgers.

Accounts Payable (A/P):

• Review vendor statements and process purchase orders and invoices accurately.
• Assist with A/P and General Cashier tasks, including monthly bank counts, petty cash processing, and invoice entry.
• Reconcile vendor statements and employee expense reports efficiently.

General Financial Responsibilities:

• Provide management with timely, accurate, and relevant financial data.
• Maintain strong internal controls for all cashier banks and petty cash funds, adhering to company policies.
• Organize and maintain files for contracts, insurance policies, tax reports, expenses, and payroll.
• Reconcile monthly taxes and prepare month-end reports for the Corporate Accounting Department.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards in all financial practices.

Payroll and Reporting:

• Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and meet all reporting deadlines.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of hospitality-specific accounting practices, including night audit reports, guest ledger management, and GL account handling.
• Familiarity with M3 Accounting Core is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
