About The Perry Hotel

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Possesses full knowledge of food and beverage products served and utilizes suggestive selling techniques.
• Set restaurant for service by setting tables with candles, napkins, service plates, utensils and glassware
• Put customer orders into POS to relay information to the bar and kitchen by recording guest’s choices, identifying special dietary needs and/or special requests in a timely manner.
• Ensures guests receive immediate, friendly, and personalized service to build their intent to return.
• Guides guests to select food and beverages by presenting menu, offering cocktails, suggesting courses, explaining the specials, identifying appropriate wines, answering food preparation questions, etc.
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, items that are 86’d, etc.
• Serve guests by picking up and delivering orders from bar and kitchen; deliver appropriate accompaniments and condiments.
• Respond to guest cues to anticipate when additional service is needed.
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, being alert to patron spills or other special needs
• Maintains positive guest satisfaction by exceeding service expectations.
• Properly open and pour wine tableside
• Handles guest complaints or directs them to a manager.
• Operates point-of-sale system with high level of efficiency and handles large amounts of currency.
• Practices proper cash handling procedures by addressing the point-of-sale system after every transaction, properly organizing money, counting change back to guests, and following appropriate checkout procedures.
• Complete all side work as directed by management.
• Work with all other team members in a respectful and professional way to accomplish all department tasks and responsibilities.
• Support all department initiatives and programs as requested by management
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by management.
• Adhere to grooming, uniform and appearance standards consistently.
