The Sonesta Hotel Baltimore Inner Harbor, a hotel brand that is as unique as you, is looking for a dynamic sales professional to join their team! We are seeking a passionate, result driven candidate to take our newly opened hotel to the next level.
Summary:
The Director of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for leading all sales efforts as well as cultivating a strong sales environment throughout the hotel. This position is responsible for driving sales to achieve or surpass budgeted goals, play an active role in the community, participate in hotel sales strategy meetings, create and implement unique marketing initiatives and numerous other exciting tasks outlined below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Meets or exceeds budgeted RevPAR, Occupancy and ADR
•Develops/assists with development of the hotel’s marketing and sales plan based on the hotel’s position and strengths within each market segment.
•Implements hotel’s marketing and sales plan.
•Analyzes and understands the competition’s strengths and weaknesses for each market segment and successfully directs marketing activities against each.
•Identifies and maintains constant communications with the hotel’s key accounts.
•Actively sells room nights through outside sales calls, telemarketing, tours, etc.
•Actively sells to all clients (greeting tours, talking with guests at continental breakfast to surface additional leads, etc.).
•Knows the competition well. In addition, is familiar with all “business” in the market, where that “business” stays and why.
•Uses the resources available in the Brand manual to surface, call on, and track potential business.
•Ensures that hotels are familiar with key accounts and “specifics” (special rates, special requirements, etc.) relating to business booked in the hotel.
•Communicate daily with property teams for sales information necessary for professional execution of commitments.
•Involvement in Community Activities and Hotel Programs.
•Attend any brand required training as well as other required meetings.
•Inform General Manager of potential opportunities/concerns with clients and progress of special projects.
•Responsible for knowing respective hotels’ emergency and safety procedures.
•Monitor room inventory and rate programs; be knowledgeable of occupancy, average rate, and REVPAR goals at respective properties.
•Forecast’s occupancy fluctuations and directs selling activities to maximize revenues.
•Knows the hotel’s demand segments, sources of business for each, and balances market segments according to supply and demand.
•Knows the principal competition for each market segment
•Accurately assists in forecasting occupancy changes based on changing market conditions (additions to supply and demand, etc.).
•Personally, demonstrates a commitment to outstanding guest service by responding to guests’ needs.
