We’re looking for an Apartment Host to join our Sales team!

The role will be based at The Hoxton, Chicago, reporting to the Director of Sales, and you will be the point person for all events, activations, and meetings within the Apartment from start to finish. You’ll be based primarily in the Apartment, our meeting space at The Hoxton, Chicago, as well as supporting the team when needed.

What you’ll do…

  • Be the first smile our visitors see when they rock up at the Apartment. You’ll help meet and greet all visitors and show them around.
  • You’ll work with the Meeting & Events Sales team to make sure that guests have everything they need for their events
  • You’ll be the main contact for all guests of the Apartment and help with all their requests including prior and during their meeting.
  • You’ll make sure the Pantry is stocked, meeting layout is set up as booked, and rooms are always kept tidy. You’ll work closely with R&B team for clearing items and housekeeping for general areas.
  • Effectively use the hotel’s reservation system Opera Sales & Catering to manage the booking procedure for small and medium sized Groups and Events ensuring processes and actions are followed in-line with company standards
  • Communicate with clients directly prior to meeting date via email and phone, to assist with group coordination.
  • Gather all meeting information for client to best prepare for a smooth and successful meeting experience.
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings with R&B team.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of BEOs, Group Memos & Report
  • Complete personal performance reports and undergo quality control checks.
  • Take safety seriously and follow all fire & security procedures, health & safety standards, and ensure you’re working in a safe manner at all times.
  • We’re in it together – you’ll work closely with the Sales, Reception, Rooms, and Restaurants teams to make sure the overall operation is running smoothly.

  • You have some events coordination and hospitality experience
  • You execute. You get things done and are a self-starter
  • You’re a natural host and can make guests and team members feel at home in our hotel
  • Service is at the heart of what your do; you're imaginative when it comes to creating experiences
  • Highly organized, communicative, and detail oriented, someone you can rely on to know the answers, or where to find them
  • Keen to take ownership of and pride in your work, a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to seeing work through and delivering results
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to The Hoxton’s unique culture
  • You are creatively ambitious and culturally curious; able to see ideas through from their inception to reality
  • If we get stuck in a lift with you, we’ll get along nicely and have a laugh along the way
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience
  • We leave our egos at the door and help get things done
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once
  • You’re flexible and open to lending a hand where needed
  • You’re able to move and lift furniture up to 25 lbs for meeting setup.
  • You’re tech savvy and/or willing to learn all A/V equipment surrounding The Apartment to troubleshoot during meeting days.
