Director of Sales - Hampton Inn and Suites Newburgh Stewart Airport
In this position, you will work on-site to assist the General Manager in leading the revenue efforts of the property by sourcing new business, negotiating group contracts, and building and maintaining relationships with our corporate, leisure, and community partners. In addition, you will help drive the hotel's success in guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, and delivering a return on investment. Finally, you will help support the execution of the brand service strategy and brand standards and initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Development of new business through proactive direct sales and marketing efforts, such as tele-prospecting calls, site tours, direct mail, marketing, and public / community relations.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all inquiries for group room blocks and meetings with information and prepare proposals/contracts to secure the business.
- Make outside sales calls to area businesses to attract corporate accounts, team training experiences, weddings and other events that occupy both meeting space and sleeping rooms.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new client base.
- Maintain records of sales activity and provide regular reporting on revenue attainment.
- Prepare group resumes and brief front desk staff on incoming groups, requirements, and needs.
- Attend weekly revenue management meetings and provide direction and oversight on pricing strategies.
- Develop strong relationships with the on-property front office team to ensure unity and a constant striving to achieve the same goals.
- Make recommendations for advertising opportunities.
- Develop and follow annual sales and marketing plan.
- Monitor final billing from groups and events to ensure timely collection.
- Participate in sales & hotel meetings.
- Represent the hotel at business and social functions in the area.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the General Manager, including operational duties.
Job Requirements:
- Polished, professional, and personal presentation with a warm, confident, and hospitable personality.
- Proficient in computer office programs, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work as a team and independently with minimum supervision.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, quality, and service at all times.
- Pride and attention to detail.
- Meet or exceed set revenue and sales goals.
- Execute tasks on annual sales and marketing plan.
Experience:

Minimum of 2 years previous hotel experience; Hilton experience highly desired.
- Delphi experience is highly desired.
- Proven success in a similar role and environment.
Core work hours Monday-Friday, on-site. Occasional evenings and weekend work will be required as job duties demand. Must have reliable transportation. Salary plus quarterly incentive plan.
