Position: General Manager
Location: The Godfrey Hotel Detroit

Primary Responsibilities

• Leadership & Culture: Inspire and lead a diverse, highly skilled team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee all facets of hotel operations, ensuring consistency with a 4.5-star lifestyle property’s standards and brand expectations.
• Revenue Growth: Partner with sales and revenue management teams to optimize occupancy, ADR, and F&B performance. Support the Director of Sales in cultivating a proactive sales culture.
• Guest Experience: Elevate guest satisfaction by implementing innovative service strategies and ensuring meticulous attention to detail in all touchpoints.
• Financial Stewardship: Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, analyze financial performance, and implement strategies to optimize profitability.
• Community Engagement: Represent the hotel within Detroit’s vibrant business and hospitality community to drive brand awareness and generate new opportunities.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with ownership and the corporate management team to align property goals with broader company objectives.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all regulatory and brand standards, including safety, HR, and maintenance protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience: Preferred minimum of three years years as a General Manager, with a proven track record at upscale or lifestyle properties.
• Market Knowledge: Familiarity with Detroit’s downtown market, including its conventions, demand drivers, and competitive landscape.
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience is acceptable.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, manage performance, and foster a culture of excellence.
• Financial Acumen: Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and revenue management strategies.
• Technology Skills: Familiarity with hotel property management systems and industry technology.
• Hilton Experience: Experience working within the Hilton system is a plus.
• Professionalism: High ethical standards, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and financial results.
