El Rey Court's food truck, the Turquoise Trailer, is seeking a PM line cook as we open for dinner three more nights a week. We will be open from Thursday-Monday, 5pm-9pm. The shifts are 3:30pm-10:00pm, and evenings needed are Sunday & Monday. We have live music in our bar every Sunday and a recurring Queer Night every Monday! The ideal candidate is reliable, takes pride in their work product, possesses good time management, and prioritizes cleanliness standards. Current NM food handler's card required. All applicants must have a working phone and solid transportation for getting to get to and from work.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Maintains high sanitation standards throughout the area of responsibility 
Ensures organized and clean storage areas for all food 
Ensures that all food items are properly handled and stored at the conclusion of the shift Properly rotates inventory 
Prepares food according to specifications for breakfast, lunch, dinner and banquets 
Maintains clean and orderly storage areas and product pars 
Work with manager to create specials and other menu variations 
Perform various other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

Minimum of High School education preferred
Previous experience in a similar role required

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Basic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Knowledge of food preparation health and safety guidelines
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts
Ability to multi-task

Just down Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe — that is, old Route 66 — lies El Rey Court, an iconic adobe roadside motor court originally built in 1936.

Re-imagined + renovated, El Rey provides an inspiring 86 room oasis for the modern traveler. Set on five acres of sprawling old growth gardens, El Rey is a laid back come-as-you-are type of place where everyone is a friend.

Built along the original route 66, El Rey Court officially opened its doors in 1936. With its traditional Northern New Mexico adobe-style architecture the motor inn was a favorite among locals and road trippers alike.

Throughout the years, the El Rey has seen many additions, renovations, upgrades, and changes. More rooms were built, the original carports were enclosed, the pool and hot tubs were added, and the neighboring motel (Alamo Court) was integrated into El Rey. The latest upgrades to El Rey Court were completed in 2018, refreshing the rooms, adding La Reina bar, and creating more spaces for guests and locals to discover.
