The Equipment Manager (EM) reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Golf Course Maintenance (GCM) Facility. Identify and resolve mechanical issues on all maintenance equipment including gas, diesel, and electric units.
Ensure all reel and rotary units are cutting properly and at the proper height of cut.
Assist in continued training for the turf technicians on proper usage and maintenance of all equipment.
Schedule, conduct, and record preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment
Communicate with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents about any issues relating to maintenance and repair of all equipment.
Manage, coordinate, and develop the Assistant Mechanic.
Must be able to comply with all OSHA safety standards and practices.
Advanced knowledge of reel and bed knife grinding - experience with Foley Grinders
Experience with Toro and John Deere cutting units
Able to quickly and efficiently diagnose issues with turf equipment
Must have basic computer knowledge to oversee related budgets
