THE ROLE

Responsible for soliciting and servicing business in the hotel in accordance with the marketing plan and assigned market segments. Generates a high profile and quality perception in the marketplace. Responsible for generating room revenues in line with Forecast and Sales & Marketing plan.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Meet or exceed pre-determined Sales booking goals for room revenue; meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average with the liberty to negotiate as needed within established guidelines yet maintaining the overall revenue goals.
  • Prospecting all markets for group sales including SMERF, Entertainment, and Corporate.
  • Ability to prospect/secure new local or corporate accounts which includes going through the full RFP process.
  • Maintain and grow existing client base and key accounts.
  • Prospect and develop venues that will support group rooms capture.
  • Maintain weekly prospecting goals and develop current accounts into new business for Group and Catering.
  • Track all activities daily to include Sales Calls, Meetings with Clients, Prospecting Calls, Site Visits, Presentations, and Client Entertainment.
  • Follows up on the progress of clients booked, such as room night pick up, with the Group Housing Coordinator to ensure maximum occupancy.
  • Follow up on bookings and solicit repeat business.
  • Have acquired knowledge with the ability to upsell clients, while promoting a level of service parallel to Hotel G standards.
  • Fully develop Transient market segments and achieve room night and revenue goals.
  • Ability to prospect/secure new local or corporate accounts which includes going through the full RFP process.
  • Deep dive into Agency 360 reports to understand production, rates, and comp set performance; liaise with Amadeus team for better understanding of market insights for corporate strategies.
  • Strategize with Sales and Revenue teams on rate pattern and market trends.
  • Ensure all local negotiated rates are reviewed, approved, updated, and contracted each year both internally and with client annually.
  • Be the liaison for RFP process and annual contracting of Consortia.
  • Consult the hotel on what optional consortia programs to consider and budget for each year.
  • Complete and update all profile information on RFP platforms (Lanyon, Sabre, etc.) as needed.
  • Perform monthly account reviews for Top 100 accounts and continuously ask for other opportunities and referrals.
  • Participate as necessary in daily and weekly business reviews, including presenting updates on market production and new accounts.
  • Maintain active liaison with competitors regionally through personal contacts, professional and industry associations.
  • Represent hotel in community affairs and industry related events.
  • Travel and attend tradeshows as required.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Hotel Sales position.
  • Must have strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and demonstrate excellent sales and negotiating skills.
  • Highly motived team player with strong initiative and desire for success.
  • Experience with Infor HMS PMS preferred.
  • Flexible availability. May be required to occasionally work different schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Someone who enjoys being part of a team that provides great experiences for our Guests.
  • Working knowledge of property management system (Infor HMS preferred).

Compensation: $75,000 to $85,000
