The Empire Hotel, an iconic 4-star landmark near Central Park and Lincoln Center, is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Senior Sales Manager. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a Director of Sales, leading efforts to drive revenue growth and build lasting client relationships. What You'll Do:

  • Lead the Charge: Actively prospect and secure new business across various markets, focusing on group and transient bookings. Continuously develop strategies to maintain existing relationships and grow revenue with key accounts.
  • Strategic Account Management: Build and manage long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers. Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts and develop forward-looking account plans.
  • Seal the Deal: Develop, negotiate, and close proposals and contracts to maximize revenue, showcasing our unique selling points—such as the Empire Rooftop Bar & Lounge and our iconic presence in popular culture, such as Gossip Girl.
  • Drive Revenue: Proactively identify opportunities to grow accounts by leveraging knowledge of customer needs, operations, and challenges. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet and exceed budgetary goals.
  • Be the Face of the Empire: Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and conferences. Conduct engaging site tours for potential clients, ensuring they experience our vibrant culture and unique offerings firsthand.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with the front office and operations teams to ensure every guest’s stay is seamless and memorable, aligning sales efforts with guest satisfaction initiatives.
  • Achieve and Exceed: Meet and exceed revenue targets and market share goals set by the Director of Sales. Be flexible and proactive in pursuing business opportunities, including travel.

What We're Looking For:

  • Sales Dynamo: You have 2+ years of hospitality or tourism sales experience in a management role, with a proven track record of meeting targets and driving revenue. Existing networks of key accounts are a plus.
  • Relationship Builder: Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage high-profile accounts and develop strategic, long-term partnerships.
  • Communication Pro: Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present confidently at all organizational levels.
  • Team Player: A positive, professional demeanor with a knack for collaboration and teamwork.
  • Go-Getter: Energetic and proactive, with a passion for entertainment and hospitality. Self-starter mentality with entrepreneurial spirit and ROI-driven sales understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a related field (Hospitality/Business preferred)
  • 2+ years of prior hospitality or tourism sales experience in a management role.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
  • Skilled with Opera PMS, Microsoft Excel & Office365. Familiarity with Agency360, Delphi / S&C Systems.
  • Experience managing Consortia, Corporate, and Group business.

Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000 + bonus program
