Assistant Cook

Position: Cook Assistant 

Reports To: Cook (Head Chef)

Job Summary

Professional candidates will ensure the expectations of our guests are not just met; but exceeded! Our Assistant Cooks work as a team-player directly under the Sous Chef and Lead Cook on a scheduled basis and have the opportunity to practice professional culinary experience, alongside our trained company standards and best practices in our Restaurant and Bar outlets

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute menu items to our Resort recipe's

• Maintain all HACCP food safety standards

• Communicating with guests to solicit feedback, exceed expectations, and meet special dietary requirements

• Assistance with inventory taking of all wet and dry provisions and maintaining a highly organized Kitchen environment

• Fulfillment of all required cleaning duties as scheduled

• Contribute ideas for scheduled menu reviews

• Partake in internal training and or competitions as a company representative

• Working with your F&B counterparts in responding efficiently to guest requests in keeping with the company's standards and service philosophy

Qualifications & Abilities

• 3+ years experience in a professional cooking position, preferably in a remote resort or cruise ship location

• Food Safety Certification

• A positive, outgoing, and buoyant attitude and a radiant smile!

• Exceptional organizational, time-management and team-playing skills

• Caribbean, Overseas, remote Resort or Cruise Ship experience an asset

• Professional Resort training / internships an advantage

• Ability to relocate and produce a clean, valid police clearance

• Drivers license is also essential for this role

• Ability to reside on a remote island location
