The Marker Union Square, a distinguished boutique hotel in San Francisco, is seeking a dynamic Director of Rooms to join our esteemed Leadership team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor Department Heads across the Rooms Division. Foster a culture of excellence by training and developing your team, especially emerging leaders, to enhance service delivery and elevate our standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee departmental schedules, inspect areas of responsibility, and ensure adherence to operational and service standards. Address guest complaints with professionalism, building lasting relationships with returning guests.
  • Department Oversight: Manage the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Reservations departments while maintaining positive relationships with our contracted bell and valet teams.
  • Financial Stewardship: Monitor the financial performance of the Rooms Division, including managing labor expenses and budgeting. Develop the Annual Business Plan and Budget to align with the hotel's financial objectives.
  • Guest Experience: Curate and enhance the guest journey from check-in to check-out. Collaborate with Department Heads to ensure a seamless and exceptional experience for every guest.
  • Systems and Standards: Oversee all hotel systems, including PMS, Key Systems, and Security Cameras. Ensure that departmental operations manuals and standards are current and followed. Review quarterly Coyle Shops, develop action plans to celebrate successes, and address areas for improvement.
  • Hotel Upkeep: Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public spaces to uphold our high standards. Work with the Engineering Department to effectively schedule and manage repairs.
  • Innovation and Competitive Edge: Stay abreast of local and national trends and implement best practices to keep our hotel at the forefront of the industry.
  • VIP and Loyalty: Deliver personalized service to VIP and Preferred Loyalty guests, ensuring their needs are met with exceptional care. Adhere to the Preferred Loyalty Program standards.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years in diverse Operations management roles within luxury hospitality. Proven track record in leading high-performing teams and enhancing guest satisfaction.
  • Education: A college degree in hotel/restaurant management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and business acumen. Ability to adapt to changing needs and a passion for delivering top-notch service.
