Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent the Mechanic works in the repairing and maintenance of various gasoline and diesel-powered golf course maintenance equipment.
- Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment.
- Inspects, diagnose and repair mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered, trenchers, rollers, mowers, cart fleet, sprayers and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.
- Works with Superintendent to prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, as well as all outside contacts. Knowledge of how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
- Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventative maintenance and the proper cleaning and safe operation of equipment. Establishes and maintains safety procedures for using equipment.
- Keeps up with preventative maintenance schedule (oil,grease,air,etc.) and maintains repair records on all equipment.
- Responsible for the quality of cut on all equipment used on the golf course (reel and rotary mowers).
- Establishes and maintains safety procedures for using equipment.
- Undertakes fabrication, welding, troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Maintains inventory of common equipment maintenance and repair parts
- Inspects equipment on and off course daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Course Superintendent.
- Equipment repair experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to repair and maintain all golf course equipment * Able to perform required role in emergency situations

- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
