About Us: Onera is a unique, luxury landscape and environmentally focused resort committed to providing an unparalleled experience for our guests. This second Onera location is scheduled to open in Wimberley August, 2024.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to oversee all unit and site maintenance at Onera Resort. Unlike typical chief engineer roles where the chief engineer delegates to a team, in this position, the Chief Engineer will be responsible for executing and planning maintenance tasks themselves and coordinating with maintenance vendors due to limited staffing. Living onsite is a requirement for this role, and free onsite housing & utilities are provided.

Responsibilities:

• Execute daily preventative and as-needed maintenance
• Plan maintenance schedules
• Create and follow maintenance SOPs
• Track and maintain supplies, tools, parts, etc. inventory
• Perform regular inspections of all Resort facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces, to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems as needed, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
• Manage and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance activities, ensuring that all resources are used efficiently and effectively.
• Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized maintenance tasks or projects, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies related to maintenance and environmental sustainability, and incorporate these into maintenance strategies and procedures.
• Train and mentor junior maintenance staff as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members are able to perform their duties effectively.

Qualifications:

• (Preferred) Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
• (Required) Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, with a demonstrated track record of success in a leadership role.
• (Required) Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems commonly found in hospitality environments.
• (Required) Various certifications that speak to the individual's skillsets and experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and address maintenance issues as they arise.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation, with a demonstrated understanding of best practices for minimizing the environmental impact of maintenance activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to respond to maintenance emergencies or other urgent situations.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
