Compensation: $12.00 per hour
Wintonbury Hills Golf Course is excited to announce the career opportunity of a Server for our property. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service.
The idea candidate will be cross trained as a server in the pub and on the beverage cart. Golf experience is helpful but not required. Basic hours range from 9am until 7pm and availability on weekdays and weekend is required as well as a drivers license.
Key Responsibilities Of The Server
- Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
- Describes specials of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
- Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation.
- Follows-up with guest to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed.
- Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
- Maintains organized workstation and side work duties.
- Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sales System.
- Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
- Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques.
- Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Key Responsibilities Of The Beverage Cart
- Confirms beverage cart is fully operational before starting rounds on the course.
- Stocks and cleans beverage cart throughout the day.
- Maintains and exhibits knowledge of proper golf course etiquette.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by the management.
- Ensures guests are attended to in a prompt, efficient and personalized manner.
- Serves food and beverage items to guests while on the course.
- Responds to customer questions regarding the general information of facility.
- Reviews schedules for changes, calendar of events and club activities on a daily basis.
- Accountable for all checks and cash transactions that may, at times, may be high volume.
- Utilizes Point of Sales system (POS) and creates daily sales reports.
- Communicates guest concerns or comments immediately to the Director of Food and Beverage and Chef.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications For The Server
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years serving experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to meet state age requirements for handling alcohol for this position.

- Regular and reliable attendance.
