General Purpose
Directs and participates in the construction and maintenance of the grounds; and performs related tasks as required. Designs landscape plans for facility grounds and is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of that plan.
Essential Duties
- Handles day to day maintenance on irrigation system, course watering, repair
- Assists in cultural practices: spiking top dressing, aerification, etc.
- Brush, tree removal, fertilizer applications, training in chair saw usage safety
- Answer to Foreman/Asst. Supt. small course project teams, irrigation repair, rough mowing, irrigation watering
- Work every other weekend for 4 hours, including holidays, moisture check on greens wknds.
- When need assist in course mowing greens, tees, fairways, rough
- May be involved in driving tractors to preform various tasks, projects,
- Working knowledge of small engine operation and repair, helpful but not required
Education/Experience
- Associate’s degree (AA); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License, Pesticide Application License
Other Qualifications
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job

Currie Golf Course
Currie West is the newest 18 hole layout at the Currie Municipal Golf Complex. It is a modern design that rivals many of Michigan’s top resort courses. It began as a 9 hole layout that was expanded to 18 holes in 2002.
Designed by Michigan golf course architect, Jerry Mathews of Natural Golf Design, the course features a complete redesign of the original 9-hole layout and a new front nine carved out of the naturally wooded landscape between M-20 and the Tittabawassee River in the city of Midland.
